Zitobile Primary School in the Cala Administration Area of Upper Indwana held a heartfelt combined celebration as Grade R learners marked their graduation and Grade 7 pupils bid farewell ahead of their move to high school. The event, filled with joy and pride, also paid special tribute to the school principal, who is completing his final year of service after years of dedicated leadership.

The principal, whose tenure has brought remarkable progress, was widely praised for transforming the school during his time in office. When he assumed leadership, the school had a low enrolment rate, but under his guidance, learner numbers doubled — a reflection of renewed community confidence in the institution.

Ms. L. M Mpotulo, the Seplan Circuit Manager acknowledged his unwavering commitment to improving the school environment and academic standards citing improved teaching and learning and instilling discipline among learners as well as fostering partnerships with parents and community.

Despite moments of great achievement, the school has also faced challenges. Not so long ago, the community mourned the tragic loss of a learner who died by suicide after allegedly being found in possession of drugs.

During the event, speakers encouraged parents, learners and the community to continue supporting young people and working closely together to create a safe and nurturing learning environment. The spirit of healing, unity and continued progress was evident in the messages shared.

Proud families watched as Grade R learners received their certificates, marking their readiness to begin formal schooling next year. Their teachers congratulated them on reaching this important milestone and encouraged them to enter the next phase of their educational journey with confidence. Grade 7 learners were also honoured as they concluded their primary school journey.

Ms. Ntengo, who was invited as the guest speaker, urged the learners to surround themselves with positive peers, embrace good habits, and make choices that open doors to growth and success in the years to come.
