Acting District Mayor, Cllr Bongeka Nobuntu who also serves as the MMC for Infrastructure emphasised the importance of public participation. Cllr Nobuntu said it is part of their mandate to listen to residents’ voices and ensure that the public has the opportunity to raise concerns and share their views. She reiterated that meeting with communities is a priority as the municipality continues to focus on responsive service delivery.

Cllr Thandeka Kulashe, Chief Whip and Acting Mayor of Emalahleni Municipality, noted that the district team is currently visiting all local municipalities to present the audited report. She expressed satisfaction that residents were able to hear the report and speak directly to officials about issues affecting their wards.
