Residents of Zwartwater in Sidwadweni Ward 09 in said that they are in pain that they do not have access to water while they are experiencing high degrees.
They reported this to Chris Hani District Municipality.
One of the residents says that the pumps are dry and they are at a standstill, saying that they had asked the district municipality to look into the damage and when the officials came and took pictures, they said the engine was damaged but there was still no help.
Another thing that worries them is how they will drink unclean water as tanks are no longer clean.
The District Municipality replied that they are in a process of procurement and the engine was ordered.
In the letter sent the Chris Hani District Municipality confirmed that they are aware of the problem and that it was caused by high voltage which affected the engine and it was repaired by Eskom before.
