The Chris Hani District Police Service has been honored as two members of the South African Police Service service have been selected to attend the SAPS National Excellence Awards in Bloemfontein representing the Eastern Cape Province.
Captain Heidi Winnar who is the Molteno police commander and Sergeant Masibulele Qinisile from the Cacadu police station made Chris Hani District proud.
Winnar started the Community in Blue Concept with the Junior District/Station Commissioners in the district as well as being the District Coordinator of Hostage and Suicide Negotiators where she did this successfully, she also launched a structure like Youth Crime Prevention.
Meanwhile the forty-one year old Sergeant Masibulele Qinisile was crowned as the Laureate Award winner where he received the Prestigious National Commissioner’s Award. These awards are hosted for the eleventh year. He also won a car and it was a great gift for him as he has never owned a car before.
Sergeant Qinisile showed his bravery when he rescued a woman and her child from the suspect who is her husband was on the verge of death. Even then, Qinisile sacrificed himself while the suspect was shooting at the police and he went to rescue the victims.
During the awards ceremony, the Commissioner of Police, General Fannie Masemola, called on members of the Police to continue doing the good work and work with dedication.
