The Emalahleni Municipality in collaboration with the Department of Education hosted the 2026 Awards ceremony at Freemantle School Hall in Cacadu Emalahleni. The Chris Hani West (CHW) and Cacadu Circuit Management Centre (CMC) were also congratulated for the progress they have made in improving the Grade 12 results for the year 2025.

The event was directed by the Emalahleni Municipality Speaker Cllr Ncedisa Mtyhobile and opened with a prayer by Rev Z. Nqoko. The Mayor of Chris Hani District was represented by Cllr Malibongwe Fatyela.

Emalahleni Municipality Mayor Cllr Nontombizanele Koni says this is the third year they have been running these awards and this year the standard was higher than last year and they see that the point of these awards is that it gives teachers and principals a great deal of motivation to improve the results of the year even more, and this gives schools a challenge to strive for success and excellence even more.

She thanked the District Director Mr. Godlo for the initiative he took to have camps and ensure that children eat which further contributed to improving the results.
