An 80 year old grandmother from Vetyu Village in Ngcobo is in desperate need of assistance after her home collapsed, leaving her without shelter.
Hloyi Nothozamile, who is over eighty years old, is currently residing with her neighbors after her house collapsed. Due to her advanced age and poor health, she is struggling to take care of herself and carry out daily tasks.
Community members have taken the initiative to provide assistance in any way possible. Bathandwa Ndude from Luhewini said they approached a local shop for assistance and were able to receive some food to support the elderly woman during this difficult time. However, community members say more help is urgently needed.
They are appealing to members of the public, local businesses, and organizations to assist with building materials such as cement and sand so that the grandmother’s home can be rebuilt. The community hopes that with support, the elderly woman will soon have a safe and stable place to live again.
